Safety is a condition of employment.
Oakridge has a multi-layered safety program titled ZERO Accidents™. This program reaches across all areas and all levels of the company - recognizing and rewarding employees for meeting stringent safety criteria. Before joining a work site, all employees undergo a strenuous safety orientation where workers learn it is not just their individual duty – but their absolute obligation and a condition of employment to maintain safety in every action, on every site, every day. Ongoing training and on-site safety meetings maintain this focus. For our clients, Oakridge’s vigilance on safety means quality construction and reduced cost as an incident-free project stays on budget and on schedule. Oakridge employees have an average tenure far above the national average, and when asked why, they credit the company’s commitment to safety. For Oakridge, the safe way is the only way we will do business.
Rewarding safety excellence.
The Association of General Contractors of America, which represents more than 32,000 construction companies, conducts an annual national safety awards program. Oakridge Builders and Flintco LLC's safety program has been honored as being one of the top three in the nation since the program’s inception in 1998.
Additionally, Oakridge Builders has consistently achieved the annual platinum award, the highest achievement possible, in the Associated Builders and Contractors annual national Safety Training and Evaluation Process program.
The proof is in the numbers.
At Oakridge, safety is the standard, not the exception. That’s why Oakridge’s Experience Modifier (EMR) rate is .45 - half the industry average. Our safety program is more than just a written document. It’s an active part of company operations. With the ZERO Accidents™ safety program, all employees and subcontractors are engaged at all levels. Both incentive and disciplinary actions are designed to ensure safety on every project and throughout every part of the company. We reinforce with employees and those under our supervision that they can refuse to work in any unsafe conditions and that strict adherence to our safety policies and procedures is a condition of their employment. As a result of our own diligence, OSHA has authorized Oakridge as one of the few contractors it allows to conduct self-inspections
